Chloe Violette is launching the leading single to her debut at The Old Bar on 24th August. This is the first headline show Chloe has played in a LONG time.
‘This House’ is a love-letter to the run-down rental that holds a special place in her heart. The song follows a narrative that evokes warmth, nostalgia, and honours the universal experience of a place becoming a home. Produced by Josh Walton, This House delivers an intimate sound that complements Chloe Violette's soaring vocals and heartfelt storytelling.
Presented by Vibe Union, Chloe’s thrilled to be sharing the stage with the band (Josh Walton, Kelsey Jean, Isaac Bakker and Billie Fletcher). With stunning support from marigolden, this show is going to be a very special one.
About Chloe:
Take a standout voice, add some melancholy, and a whole lot of feeling and you get singer-songwriter, Chloe Violette. The Gippsland based artist exudes charm with songs that evoke a captivating combination of heartache and hopefulness. Drawing deep inspiration from the suburban landscapes of inner city Melbourne (Narrm) and the stillness of Tarra-Bulga National Park near her home (Brataualung/Gunai Kurnai Country), her music is rooted in a strong sense of place, identity, and emotional truth. With a voice that is both tender and assured, Chloe crafts songs that explore memory, connections to place, and the quiet moments that shape us.
About marigolden:
marigolden – the moniker for artist Mel O’Neill – fills the room with a mixture of indie-folk-rock.
Based in Naarm/Melbourne and deeply shaped by her upbringing in nipaluna/Hobart, her lyrics explore the nuance and tension of growing up and navigating the human experience. Her sound blends classic elements of guitar, bass and drums, with the occasional touch of piano.
Following great acknowledgement from previous releases, marigolden has found her way into editorial playlisting with Apple Music and MTV as well as features with Pilerats, the AU Review, Acid Stag and more. Radio across the country and the world has celebrated marigolden with plays on triple j, Unearthed, Double J, Triple R, PBS 106.7FM, and more.
After finding herself playing an unexpected set at a BIGSOUND party in 2024, marigolden is solidifying her spot within the indie-rock and folk live scene, having also played alongside artists such as Bob Evans (Jebediah), Adam Newling and Hannah McKittrick.
