A regular fixture of the Stormhold calendar, Monthly Bash is a day filled with medieval fun of all sorts. Comprising of rapier and armoured combat tournaments, and members of the populace pursuing their own interests – singing, sewing, dancing and much more.
July Monthly Bash is brought to you by Orlok Hanbal al Barbari, ably assisted by Julyan Graye of London with a theme of: 'The Mid-Tudor period (specifically 1547-1558 Edward Vi and Mary I)'. This is the period immediately following the Death of Henry VIII. A tumultuous period following the death of such a significant and long serving ruler.
Both the Rapier and Armoured Combat Tournaments will be timed challenge tournaments. Combatants will take the field, challenging their opponent.
The Arts and Sciences competition theme is the same. Competitors are asked to submit an artistic work in any style which they consider relates to the theme 'The Mid-Tudor period (specifically 1547-1558 Edward Vi and Mary I)'.
Bring a picnic lunch for yourself or to share with friends, some craft projects, your armour/protective gear, music and musical instrument, games, depending on what you intend to do. Water and toilets are available on site.
This is a garbed event, and loaner gear is available by prior arrangement by contacting the Stormhold Hospitaller: Lady Fionnghuala nic an tSionnaigh (
