Over two years we investigated 10% of Australia’s slaughterhouses. Now it’s time to act.
Over 2023 and 2024 animal protection organisation Farm Transparency Project (FTP) investigated 30 Australian slaughterhouses across five states in Australia’s largest investigation into animal slaughter facilities. They installed dozens of hidden cameras, capturing hundreds of hours of footage of the slaughter of pigs, goats, cows, calves, sheep, rabbits, ducks, chickens, deer and camels.
At every facility, FTP found evidence of illegal activity and breaches of state and federal regulation. In a new report, the stark reality of Australian animal slaughter is laid bare, as are the inadequacy of the laws meant to protect sentient beings from pain, fear and distress.
Now, it’s time to take action.
From the 29th July - 3rd August 2025, actions will be taking place in each state where slaughterhouses were investigated, drawing attention to the footage that was captured and the animals who continue to suffer inside slaughterhouses across the country.
Join an event in your area to take a stand against animal abuse and demand that all slaughterhouses be shut down!
