Hike to Wright's Tower

Appropriate for: Recommended for adults due to rocky terrain and pace.

About the Outing Leader: Joey has been exploring the Fells regularly on his own or with groups.

About the hike: We will meet on the steps of the Oak Grove Cemetery at Medford at 9:00AM on Sunday, May 25th and enter the Fells from the Whitemore Brook entrance. We'll follow the Whitemore Brook trail to the Winchester Water treatment facility and switch to the Skyline trail. We will follow the Skyline trail to Wright’s Tower. After viewing Boston’s beautiful skyline, if weather permits, we will continue on the Skyline trail to the Cross Fells trail at C5-18 intersection. Then, we will turn to follow the Cross Fells trail all the way back to the Whitemore Brook trail. The total length of the loop is about 4.6 miles.

Please wear proper footwear and dress accordingly. Since the trails can be rocky in some sections, hiking boots/shoes are recommended. A sturdy pair of sneakers would be acceptable as well. We will keep a pace of 2-2.5 miles per hour. Please bring plenty of water and your favorite snacks along.

Please come a few minutes before 9:00AM so we can leave sharp at 9:00AM.

Please park on Playstead Road in Medford across from Oak Grove Cemetery. Meet on the steps at the cemetary.
