Rue Music & Artivism Festival at the 9th Annual Women's Summit

The Rue Music and Art Festival is a grassroots, traveling music and art showcase designed to lift our voices in collective protest for a better future, showcase female and trans/nonbinary artists, and raise funds for causes invested in mutual liberation. In times of political disarray we need the arts more than ever. Join us to celebrate talented creatives, the rich tradition of protest music and artivism, and support female/queer artists and small businesses. 10% of proceeds from all artists and vendors at the festival will be donated to the Blue Ridge Abortion Fund.

Festival Hall Highlights:

• Art and artisan-made products from 15+ creatives and vendors
• Interactive art exhibits and live demos
• A pop-up art café

• Junk journaling
• Zine and flyer-making
• Indigenous beadwork with Senajewen
• Herbal Tea: Enjoy a cup from Yarrow Remedy while creating
• Henna Tattoos: Custom designs featuring traditional Philippine ancestral symbols by artist and tribal practitioner Katrina Villavicencio
• Visit the Sustainability Station for tips on swapping instead of buying
• Participate in the Take-One-Leave-One Book Exchange—bring a book, take a book!

Live Music Performances:

• Jahnel Daliyah – Soulful indie folk/rock artist
• Frank Song Jr. – Writes about the queer experience, inspired by Appalachian and Chinese folk music
• Gwen Levey – Nashville rocker; her single “Barefoot and Pregnant” went viral after Roe v. Wade was overturned

• Closing Act – Rue Crew Jam: A reunion of veterans from the first Rue Music Festival (a protest concert on Inauguration Day) - Featuring: Annie Stokes, Mowgli, Ari Voxx, Jillian Matundan, Zawadi Carroll, Ammonite, Organized Khaos, and Caroline McQuaig.
