MPL Mural Unveiling Party

McAllen Public Library invites the community to the unveiling of a new mural exhibit on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Teen Department at Main Library, located at 4001 N. 23rd Street. Created by local artist and educator Oneida Aceves Treviño, this large-scale artwork brings color, creativity, and South Texas storytelling to life. Enjoy free pizza during the celebration, meet the artist, and take photos with the new mural that now brightens up their space.

Titled "Boundless Imagination: Tales of the RGV," the 28-foot mural blends regional wildlife, cultural landmarks, and imaginative scenes filled with movement and story. A folklórico dancer twirls across the wall, a mermaid reads beside the jetties, a curious ocelot peeks through the brush, and an astronaut floats among the stars with a book in hand. The mural invites youth to see themselves as explorers, readers, and creators.
