"The organ recitals of David Troiano have garnered notice for their clean performances, musicality, and interesting repertoire. He has appeared throughout the United States, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Poland, Lithuania, and four tours in Finland with Baroque Violinist Tapani Yriola. He has also appeared in several of the great sacred spaces of Mexico, including two appearances at the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City. With particular focus and interest in the music of the Spanish Baroque and the Spanish-speaking world, he has given lecture recitals at AGO regional meetings; at symposia on Spanish and Latin American Music; and has provided recording for FIMTE, which honored the 500th anniversary of Antonio Cabezon. Always interested in new sounds for the organ, he has commissioned and premiered several new works. He received the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Michigan where he trained under Marilyn Mason, and for harpsichord studies under Edward Parmentier. Dr. Troiano currently serves at St. Clare of Montefalco Parish in Grosse Pointe Park, MI, as Director of Liturgical Music. David Troiano has been praised for the beauty of his voice, attention to musical detail, and strong characterizations. His lyric tenor voice has been heard in a substantial amount of stage roles in opera, operetta, and orchestral concerts. His dedication to American art song has been heard in over eighty-five recitals to great acclaim throughout the United States and abroad. With the Comic Opera Guild of Ann Arbor, he has recorded nearly fifty premiere CD's of the little-known stage works of Herbert, Kern, Sousa, and others; other highlights include the world premier recording of a Christmas Pastorale by Paul Paray, in which he can be heard as the narrator. In 2006, he was a participant at the Festival of Spanish and Latin American Art Song Festival in Barcelona; and in 2010, the tenor soloist with the St. John's Boychoir of Warsaw on its American Tour. Mr. Troiano earned the Master of Arts Degree in Voice Performance from Wayne State University where he currently teaches as an Adjunct Professor of Voice. Choral conducting responsibilities have included direction for musicals at the Bonstelle Theater (WSU), and for several seasons with community and semiprofessional theaters in Michigan. Since 1997, he serves as the Choral Director for the International Symphony Orchestra Association whose repertoire is primarily from the major oratorios and other concert works. From 2007 to 2008, he was the music director for the Filarets Chorus, a Polish-language chorus that has been involved in the Detroit area for over 80 years. Under his direction, the chorus won first place in both the Mixed and Men's Division at the National Convention held in May 2014. Currently, he serves as Assistant National Choral Director for the Polish Singers Alliance of America. Since 2010, Troiano has been seen (alternating with performing) on the podium with the COG in presenting several rarely-heard operettas with recordings for the Guild."
