Join the Maynard Fire Department for a very special community event as we honor four courageous local teens whose heroic actions helped save a family from a devastating house fire in our fire district.
On the night of May 17, Aiden Kane, Tyler Sodja, and Donato Jellenich of Whitesboro High School, and Morgan Randall of Dolgeville High School, were driving home from prom when they saw flames coming from a home on Cavanagh Road in Marcy.
Without hesitation, they jumped into action:
– Aiden alerted the family and helped two young children and their father escape
– Tyler checked the garage to make sure no one was inside
– Donato called 911
– Morgan guided and comforted the family once they were safely outside
Thanks to their bravery, our firefighters were able to respond and fully extinguish the fire knowing that every life had already been saved.
These young individuals are a shining example of compassion, courage, and doing the right thing when it matters most.
