Casting all genders and races 18+. Auditions will be by cold reading only, no monologues will be seen at this audition. Please come prepared to accurately list all conflicts for September and the first two weeks in October.

ABOUT THE PLAY
A new and shocking version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale of depravity, lust, love and horror featuring the many faces of Mr. Hyde. On the fog-bound streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll’s experiments with exotic “powders and tinctures” have brought forth his other self—Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend. When Hyde meets a woman who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments. Hyde, however, has other ideas, and so the two sides battle each other in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to determine who shall be the master and who his slave.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Dr. Jekyll - Any Gender (30-50s) Any race – A respected and intelligent scientist who, through experimentation, creates the potion that allows the transformation into Hyde. Jekyll is depicted as a doctor grappling with human duality and the consequences of one's actions.

Mr. Hyde - All genders (18+) Any race – Jekyll's evil alter ego, portrayed by four different actors, a creature of primal instincts and violence. He embodies the darker aspects of Jekyll's personality, lacking remorse or responsibility for his actions. These actors may also portray other characters.

Elizabeth Jelkes - F (18-30) – A chambermaid who becomes involved with Hyde, and later attracts Jekyll's attention.

Gabriel Utterson - M (30+) – Jekyll's lawyer and friend, a keen observer who becomes troubled by the appearance of Hyde and the strange connection between the two. This actor may also portray other characters in addition.

Sir Danvers Carew - M (40+) – Carew is the chief surgeon of the College of London hospital — a corrupt, misogynistic, sadistic man who is Jekyll’s professional foe. This actor may also portray other characters in addition.

Dr. H.K. Lanyon - Any Gender (25+) - A friend and colleague of Jekyll, who is horrified by the truth of Jekyll's transformation. This actor may also portray other characters in addition.

Poole - Any Gender (18+) – Jekyll's loyal butler, who witnesses the effects of Hyde's presence. This actor will also portray other characters in addition.

Richard Enfield - Any Gender (30+) – a friend of Dr. Henry Jekyll. Enfield serves as a foil to Utterson, representing a more extroverted and opinionated perspective on the events surrounding Hyde. This actor will also portray other characters in addition.

O.F. Sanderson - Any Gender (30+) – A Personal Enquiries Agent. This actor may also portray other characters in addition.
Inspector M or F (25+) - An inspector. This actor will also portray other characters in addition.
