Hi everyone, we are putting together the vegetable gardens for #ourhubcairns. This is an initiative for the kids to help grow and care for the fresh food and plants.
It is also a resource so that the kids can learn to cook fresh healthy meals and enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables....a rare treat for most of these children who live hand to mouth.
What we need:
* Volunteers to help clear & make up the vegetable garden beds.
* Seedlings - vegetables & small fruit trees
* Small hand held garden implements
* Donation of a compost bin
* Donation of a Worm Farm
* Packets of seeds for later planting
Free sausage Sizzle and refreshments supplied
11am - 3pm!

Who are we?
We are a self funded Incorporated Association made up of community members passionate about Cairns. Lead by the unstoppable Perri Bella Conti, who's put her money where her mouth is, our aim is to break the cycle of youth crime.
We will do this by intervening and assisting the most vulnerable youth in our community who have fallen through the cracks of a broken system.
We believe in a common sense approach to working with these youth to give them self respect, safety and guide them in right or wrong.
We are victims of crime ourselves, and we realise that complaining about the problem isn't going to fix it.
There is a saying: it takes a village to raise a kid.
These kids are our kids and they never had a chance. Its time we all step up and make our community great - with self respect, education and being pro active.
Its time for us to set the example and raise our community's youth better to break the cycle for generations to come.
