Intro to Natural Dye - $95 + $25

This class teaches students the fundamentals of using natural plants and natural plant extracts to color fabric. The students will learn how to mordant fabric, color shift with iron mordant and use natural dye powders such as cutch, kamala and parrot tree to create beautifully colored fabric. We will be dyeing various fabrics to see how the color looks on different types of fabric. Students will walk away with the beginnings of a color sample binder.

Materials fee: $25, includes various samples of fabric, dye powders and mordants
