About the event

The Ghost Ship
Our presenter, Susan E. Church, historian and retired museum director, will tell us about one of the 16 prison ships during the American Revolution. Nicknamed the "Hell Ship," thousands of men and boys were forced below the decks with no light or ventilation. The provisions were deemed unfit for regular issue and led to malnutrition. More American deaths occurred on these prison ships than from every battle in the war combined.

This program is free and open to the public.
