The Museum’s Manhattanhenge program returns, with a lecture and viewing event celebrating the last opportunity to see the Manhattanhenge effect in 2025!

Join Museum Senior Research Scientist Jackie Faherty for a 3D presentation about the science and history behind Manhattanhenge, the phenomenon when the setting Sun perfectly aligns with the cross streets of the Manhattan grid to create a stunning visual spectacle, using the Museum’s powerful OpenSpace visualization software.

After the program in Museum’s LeFrak Theater, join us for a spectacular Manhattanhenge viewing event outdoors! Experience the mesmerizing alignment of the setting Sun with the city's grid as you groove to the vibrant sounds of the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra. Celebrate the summer with this unforgettable celebration of an iconic New York City phenomenon.
