Matariki Dawn Breakfast

On the 19th of June at 5.45am, we will gather here to celebrate Matariki. A perfect way to celebrate the Māori New Year. We would love to have you join us and your child at school for our intentions fire, warm drink and waiata. Kaumatua will also be present to speak with us. Please note, if you come along at 5.45am you are required to stay with your child until 8am.
After the fire has finished students and whanau will make their way back to classrooms to share parakuihi (breakfast) together. This looks different for individual classes. If you are unsure, please ask your child's teacher about what you child is required to bring to contribute to their classes shared kai. If you cannot make it along to the fire at 5.45am, you are still welcome to come along to the shared breakfast in your child's classroom afterwards. Likewise, children who cannot make the fire gathering will still be included in their classes parakuihi at the beginning of the day. We look forward to welcoming you into our kura!
