About the event

Conceptual Leap - Opening Reception

My tendency is to create an alternate reality, fictionalizing the image to obtain an emotional truth. To accomplish this alternate reality, nearly all photographs in this exhibit are presented in their negative form thus reversing tonal values. Other techniques include the layering of transparent negatives and using textured stained glass to effect. Time is also a factor as the source material spans 120 years.
