“Chronicles” by Richard Arimado 🌳

The exhibit will be on view from August 5-17, 2025, with an Artist Reception on August 5, Tuesday, 5 PM.

Seen from an aerial perspective, Chronicles presents scenic vignettes of rural life that feel less fixed images and more like living memory. Arimado’s use of bird’s-eye view collapses distance and time that allows viewers to witness entire scenes from above—each person, each horse-drawn carriage carefully positioned in a visual choreography that echoes the structure of a story unfolding. These are not only aesthetic arrangements but portraits of an imagined community rooted in memory and cultural continuity. By elevating these mundane moments into painted archives, Arimado affirms the dignity of the ordinary, as if to say: this too is worth remembering.
