Get ready for sunshine, sea creatures, and sandy fun as we dive into Summer Beach Week at the Junior Holiday Club!
This week is packed with hands-on activities, sensory play, beach-themed crafts, refreshing treats, and a very special day out to bring the beach to life.
Monday – Sand Dunes and Salty Air
We’ll kick off the week with a beach-themed tuff tray filled with sand and water to ignite the senses. The children will make fresh homemade lemonade to enjoy with their morning snack. A trip to the library will inspire young minds during story time, followed by creative arts and crafts including jellyfish decorations, beach scenes on paper plates, and colourful paper fans to help us cool off. The afternoon is packed with action as we welcome coaches from Maidenhead United for an exciting football session! The day wraps up with outdoor group games like Stuck in the Mud.
Tuesday – Sea Explorers
We’ll start the day with a sea creature and shaving foam sensory tray, sparking imagination and curiosity. Children will get creative with junk modelling and icy sea-themed paintings, and enjoy a baking session where they’ll decorate their own beach cupcakes. We’ll also dive into lemonade-themed collages. In the afternoon, the fun continues outdoors with exciting field games using a variety of sports equipment perfect for developing motor skills and teamwork. The children will also venture into our forest school to explore nature, climb, and discover hidden treasures among the trees. We’ll end the day with a game of I-Spy: Beach Edition
Wednesday – Off to the Beach
It’s time for our exciting trip! We’ll begin with a picnic at Boyn Grove Park (Punt Hill) before heading to Norden Farm for a full beach day experience. Children will take part in creative workshops— bringing the seaside indoors for a fun-filled outing!
Thursday – Sail Away
Our sailing-themed tuff tray, filled with boats and water, sets the stage for a day of imaginative play. Children will get hands-on with crafts including salt dough starfish, layered beach sand jars, and mini fishbowl aquariums. Later, we’ll head outdoors for field games for mini obstacle courses, relay races, and ball games. The forest school will welcome us once more for nature exploration, leaf and stick sensory play, and building nature-inspired creations. We'll end the day with a relaxing story time session—the perfect way to wind down.
Friday – Summer Bonanza
To round off our beach week, children will make sandcastles, create cheeky crab crafts, and play bench ball in small groups. We’ll also craft sea-themed sensory bottles, build paper cup lighthouses, and take on high-energy group games like tug of war and a limbo challenge. We will wrap up the week with an epic forest scavenger hunt. It’s a week full of sunshine, sea, and smiles—the perfect summer celebration for our little beachgoers!
Every day at Holiday Club Each day, children have the choice to take part in a variety of sports and physical activities like basketball, football, skipping, bouldering and bench ball, as well as enjoy a variety of free-time activities including board games, colouring, Lego competitions, group games, and a wide selection of arts and crafts materials to choose from.
