The Al Sears Music Fest continues its weekend celebration of jazz, R&B, and the American Songbook on Saturday, September 20, with an evening concert by acclaimed vocalist Bryan Anthony at the Western Illinois Museum from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Known for his smooth, expressive style, Anthony brings to life timeless songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Sammy Davis Jr., performing beloved standards by George Gershwin, Vernon Duke, and other legendary composers. This intimate concert in the Museum’s indoor, air-conditioned Our Front Porch space offers a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for an elegant night of music.
Daytime performances begin at noon, with bar service and Sandra’s Authentic Mexican Food Truck available throughout the day. Visitors can enjoy additional live music as part of this day-long celebration of Al Sears, leading into Anthony’s headline performance in the evening.
The Al Sears Music Fest honors Macomb native Al Sears (1910–1990), a pioneering saxophonist, songwriter, and entrepreneur who performed with jazz legends like Duke Ellington and Lionel Hampton, and played a key role in shaping the sound of early rock and roll as a producer and executive with ABC Paramount.
Throughout the weekend, the Western Illinois Museum will feature photographs, recordings, and artifacts highlighting Sears’s remarkable career.
Bring your family, invite your friends, and celebrate Al Sears and Macomb’s unique place in American music history. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Performing Arts Society.

About Bryan Anthony
Bryan Anthony has performed around the world, from the Acropolis to Carnegie Hall. He began his professional career touring internationally with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, later joining the acclaimed off-Broadway production Our Sinatra for a two-and-a-half-year run that earned him high praise. Anthony has toured extensively with his jazz trio and collaborated with iconic bands including the Gene Krupa, Tommy Dorsey, and Nelson Riddle Orchestras. Critics have lauded his ability to evoke the spirit of classic crooners without imitation—Francis Davis of The Village Voice wrote, “Bryan Anthony evokes memories of the young Sinatra without trying to pass himself off as a reincarnation.” Learn more at www.bryananthonymusic.com.
