Open Farm Day at DERH Community Farm — Celebrate Local Food & Community Farming in Washington County

Downeast Restorative Harvest (DERH) is excited to welcome visitors to the DERH Community Farm for Maine’s 36th Annual Open Farm Day on Sunday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 73 Broadway in Machias.

Open Farm Day is a beloved statewide event that highlights the vital role farms play in Maine’s food system and communities. DERH is proud to join farms across the state in offering a behind-the-scenes look at local agriculture. Visitors are invited to explore what’s growing, meet the DERH team, and learn more about this unique collaborative initiative with Healthy Acadia, the Washington County Jail, and other local partners—a partnership rooted in food, connection, and community.

Whether you're curious about becoming a Friend of the Farm, or just want to spend a summer afternoon enjoying the land, all are welcome to stop by, learn, and celebrate.
