Description: Grade B+, Approx 9.5 miles with a 7 mile approx shorter option. Various stiles and gates en-route.

Terrain: Some country lanes, fields, moorland, woodland tracks, some stoney and gravelly paths which are quite slippery, at least one very muddy part when recced. Two fields with cows on day of recce. There are some very uneven AND overgrown footpaths on the route, poles suggested at walker’s discretion.
Route: This circular route takes us from Gradbach through Lud's Church chasm, on to Three Shires Head (lies at the junction of three counties Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire) then return to Gradbach. There is a shorter route of approximately 7 miles for those who would prefer a shorter walk. This shorter route will omit Three Shires Head section of the walk.

Car Parking: Free on The Roaches - Gradbach car park. If free car park is full, the alternative is £5 for all day on the farmer’s field, just before the free one.
