Opening Call for Artists, Musicians, and Spoken Word Poets
❤️AN OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS:🧑🎨
We invite you to be part of our first art show in over three years.
This show honors the life, faith, and transformation of Ron Gentry, a 72-year-old mixed media street artist who discovered the power of art only seven months ago—and whose work now centers around his journey through faith, illness, and recovery.
The theme of this show is “The Power of Change.”
Whether you are a painter, photographer, charcoal artist, or mixed media creator — if your work reflects transformation, growth, or resilience — we want to showcase it.
This is more than a gallery night. It is a celebration of:
• Personal evolution
• Recovery and healing
• Faith-based journeys (from any path)
• Artistic resilience in the face of hardship
• Stories of reconnection, community, and emotional clarity
⸻

ABOUT RON GENTRY & THE CLARITY HOUSE
Ron is a 72-year-old artist living with cancer and other health struggles. He shares his personal transformation through mixed media and street art, inspired by faith, not fear. His belief in the power of change—fueled by art and spiritual connection—is the inspiration for this entire evening.
This show also honors the community that has grown inside and around The Clarity House. The stories of recovery, grief, resilience, and joy we’ve witnessed here in Lynchburg have shaped our nonprofit. Through art, food, water, and conversation, we strive to build clarity through compassion — a space where all feel seen and supported.
We support those facing food insecurity, water insecurity, trauma, addiction, isolation, and systemic gaps in care. Our work is centered around connection, and this art show is an expression of that mission.
⸻

OUR NEW OUTDOOR SPACE: THE RACHEL BURNS REFLECTION GARDEN
We are currently working to transform our backyard into a Zen-inspired space for painting, reading, open jams, and mindful reflection.
We need volunteers for landscaping and setup over the next month — no experience needed, just a passion for creating calm, welcoming spaces for the community.
If you have easels or garden materials to donate, please let us know.

IN SUMMARY:
We’re calling on the artists, musicians, and creators of Lynchburg and beyond to help us celebrate The Power of Change.
This event honors Ron Gentry’s creative transformation and the journey of every person who has walked through our doors and taught us how to listen, how to grieve, how to grow, and how to give.
We may still be listed as the Madison House of the Arts, but we’re stepping into a deeper mission as The Clarity House — and we invite you to grow with us.
