Lyme’s funniest, entertaining, crowd-pleasing race, The Wacky Wheelbarrow Race! We’re expecting an evening of ‘wheelie’ great fun with hilarious race action for everyone.
All you need is a partner to enter as a team along with a wheelbarrow, ideally dressed to impress and we’re hoping to see some wacky ideas! Trophies will be awarded on the day for the best fancy dress, not just the quickest teams. The race will start outside Jane's Cafe and run along Cart Road before heading up the slope by Kiosk then returning along Marine Parade to the finish line just past SWIM. All team individuals will have to switch positions (pusher & passenger) at the half way point testing the skills, speed and power of everyone!
Fancy dress very much encouraged although not essential to enter.
The wheelbarrow can be the one wheel variety or a garden trolley / cart with more than one wheel.
Medals for 1st place team plus medals for the best fancy dress / decorated wheelbarrow.
Spectators are encouraged to line the route to cheer on the runners.
Entry costs £5 per team of 2.
Age 14 and over only please.
All proceeds to local good causes.
