LUTON TURKFEST 2025
Every year in the UK, we proudly organise a traditional Turkish Festival to promote the rich cultural heritage of Türkiye, preserve our values, strengthen community bonds, and uplift the spirits of our people. Once again, we are excited to welcome you to this vibrant celebration!
Held in Stockwood Park in the city of Luton, this major event is organised by the Luton Turkish Education and Culture Centre with the generous support of our sponsors. The festival offers a colorful journey into Turkish culture for both local and international guests.
Our festival brings together culture and tourism with a wide variety of activities, including:
• Delicious dishes from Turkish cuisine and regional specialties
• A live Ottoman military band (Mehter) performance
• Traditional Oba tents, beys, and warriors (Alps) from the Ottoman era
• Ottoman-era clothing, costumes, accessories, handwoven textiles, and Ebru (marbling) art
• Animation shows featuring beloved childhood characters
• Turkish classical music, Ney and Oud performances
• Live performances by traditional Turkish folk poets (Ashiks)
• Authentic Turkish folk dances
• Concerts by surprise celebrity artists
• Choral hymns and theatre performances by children studying at our community center
• The classic shadow puppets: Hacivat and Karagöz
• Children’s favorite: Rafadan Tayfa
• Turkish coffee and Turkish delight
• Traditional treats like cotton candy, paper halva, bici bici, corn on the cob, and stuffed baked potatoes (kumpir)
• Special play areas and activities prepared for children
Each year, our festival welcomes between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors — not only from Luton but from all across the UK. The event continues to grow with vibrant participation from both Turkish citizens and friends of other nationalities.
