Climb the tower at St Marys, Luton (Wednesday 1230)

Once again we are offering the chance to climb St Marys Church tower. And as we look forward to Power Court, the area opposite the church being developed and becoming home to Luton Town's new stadium what better time could there be?!

After checking in, and our making sure you are fit to make the climb up a 98 step medieval spiral staircase, we will ascend the tower. At the top views of the whole of Luton await you, including views out to the airport. And down below lies Power Court, now prepared for construction of the new stadium.

Before booking please read the following . Booking a place on a Tower Tour means that you have read and accepted the restrictions and conditions below.

Booking Conditions.

All tours will be limited to 8 people along along with two trained guides.

You are asked to follow instructions of the guides at all times.

Tower tours will not be able to proceed if winds are above 20mph or if it is raining. If it begins to rain on the tower the group will need to come down immediately the group leader says.

All participants should be wearing full shoes or trainers. No sandals or flip flops, or heels

No bags or items in hand, only a small bag over the shoulder. A space will be provided for you to leave possessions. Cameras should have straps and be around the neck.

if you have a strapped head lamp you may want to bring it to shed more light on the steps as you climb.

You must be fit and healthy . We are unable to have you climb the tower if:

• you have any medical condition that means you would have a problem climbing 100 steps (about six stories) without a break

• if you have a heart condition

• you have a severe fear of heights

• you have a severe tendency to claustrophobia.

Access is very limited and so the welfare of a whole group would be impacted if one person in a group were unwell during a tour.

Children and young people.

Children must be aged 11 years or above to take the tour. Children and young people aged 11 - 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

St Marys Church reserves the right to refuse visitors admittance to the Tower.

Please aim to be at the church 10 minutes before the start of the tour in order to allow time to book in. Thanks!

Free 2025 Tower Tours will be available at the following times:

Saturday 13th September 12.30pm; 1.30pm; 3.00pm

Wednesday 13th September 12.30pm

Tower tours are free during Heritage Open Days, but the church appreciates donations.
