OPTIONAL EXERCISE CLASS

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. All participants will be asked to sign the below Health and Safety agreement before taking part:

Your safety:
ROS exercises have been specially developed for people with osteoporosis, and should be safe for most people. However, some people should check with their doctor before trying new types of physical activity.
You should seek medical advice before trying new exercises if any of the following apply to you:
if you are over 70 and don’t already do some physical activity
if your doctor has ever said that you have a heart condition and should only do physical activity when recommended by a doctor
if you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity, or in the past month you have had a chest pain when you were not doing physical activity
if you lose balance because of dizziness or you ever lose consciousness
if you are on Medic*tion for high blood pressure or a heart condition
if you know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity
You are also advised to seek medical advice before trying new exercises if you are more severely affected by osteoporosis, for example:
if you have (or suspect you have) vertebral fractures
if you find movement of your upper body difficult or painful
if you know you are at a high risk of fracture.
It is your responsibility to decide whether you wish to participate in any demonstration or exercise in this session, assisted by any medical advice you wish to obtain. The instructor will aim to make this taster as safe and beneficial as possible, but all exercise carries a small risk.
