Come out to Sunflowers' Dew Haskap U-Pick for our first day of the season — and our very first U-Pick ever!
The berries are ripe and we’re ready for a wonderful day of picking.
If you're coming from HRM, we encourage you to make a day of it and explore the beautiful South Shore while you're here — beaches, restaurants, ice cream... oh my! You're also welcome to pack a picnic to enjoy on the farm.
U-PICK DETAILS
WHO – Bring yourself, your kids, your family, and your berry-loving buddies!
WHAT – Haskap U-Pick! Payment by cash or e-transfer only, please.
WHERE – 12648 Highway 3, Rhodes Corner (just an hour from Halifax, and 10 minutes from either Lunenburg or Bridgewater)
WHEN – Opening day is this Saturday! We’ll post our regular hours shortly — stay tuned.
WHY – Because haskaps are delicious.
HOW – Haskaps are easy to pick — no thorns, and most bushes are knee- to hip-height.
PRICE – Berries are sold by volume to avoid surprises. We’ll provide small blue bins for $5 each.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What even is a haskap berry?
Haskaps (also called honeyberries) are part of the honeysuckle family. They're plump, dark blue when ripe, and taste like a mix of blueberry, raspberry, and black currant. Bonus: they’re packed with antioxidants!
What should I wear?
We recommend long pants, long sleeves, and boots to help protect against sun and bugs while picking.
What should I bring?
Water (we’ll also have some for purchase)
Sunscreen and bug spray (please do not apply near the orchard)
Hats (we have a few extras available if you forget!)
🐝 Are there bees?
Yes — bees and other pollinators may be active in the orchard. They’re essential to healthy crops and generally not aggressive, but please keep this in mind if you or your children have allergies.
🚗 Where do I park?
Pull into the driveway and park to the side so others can pass. If things get busy, we’ll direct you to overflow parking on-site.
🚽 Is there a bathroom?
Yes — we’ll have a porta-potty available. (Please note: this is not wheelchair accessible.)
🐾 Can I bring my dog?
We love animals, but we ask that you please leave pets at home for the safety and comfort of all guests.

The field is level and may be navigable by some wheelchair users. While our washroom is not wheelchair accessible, guests with accessibility needs are warmly invited to reach out ahead of time — we’ll do our best to make a plan that works for you.
