Lecture with Freja Erixån - Visual Voice
The Northern Drawing School Convention
Freja Erixån is an artist positioned in the borderland between art and design. Working with a naive illustration style in combination with complex and unexpected texts, she creates large scale paintings, paper sculptures, performances, graphic novels and more. Erixån is obsessed with the unspoken part between text and image, and how this can expand reading experiences within sequential storytelling. A common theme in her work is normative limitations due to gender and social structures.
This evening we will get insights into Erixåns visual language, experiences of setbacks and where she finds her will to continue.
For this year’s convention, Drawing & Language, the Northern Drawing School invites you to join three open evening lectures Wednesday–Friday.
