Join 4-H Acres of Adventure at the Western Michigan Fair for Free Fun
LUDINGTON, MI — Families and curious young minds are invited to experience 4-H Acres of Adventure, an engaging four-day SPIN Club at the Western Michigan Fair from August 5-8, 2025.
Hosted by Michigan State University Extension, this free-to-join 4-H program offers daily themed activities with all materials provided—making it easy for kids to dig into learning,
creativity, and fun!
Offered at the fairgrounds from 9:30-12:30, each day will spotlight a unique theme to help kids explore new 4-H project areas and understand what makes a great fair exhibit:
• Tuesday: Foodie Tales – Make your own moon cheese for the Space Mice, craft charcuterie boards, and ice-dye fabric with colorful veggies and herbs, sponsored by the MLO Great Start Collaborative.
• Wednesday: Crawlers & Cultivators – Explore how kindness grows, bury undies for science, engineer spiderwebs, and craft homemade wildflower paper.
• Thursday: Barnyard Builders – Meet farm animals and design to-scale model shelters in our woodshop.
• Friday: Step Up & Serve It at the Table– Make ice cream, explore bubbly science, practice hoverball archery, and film a video highlighting the week’s fun.
With expert guidance from 4-H mentors and our Mason County MSU Extension staff, Acres of Adventure delivers hands-on learning, creative exploration, and joyful messiness for youth ages
5–14 (as of January 1, 2025). Whether you drop in for a day or join the full week, this is more than just fairground fun—it’s where future scientists, storytellers, farmers, and inventors take root and thrive.
Register by August 1st with Mason County 4-H. Contact Lori Cargill, 4-H Program Coordinator, at 231-845-3365 or
