Tuesday: Foundations in Clay
We'll start by getting our hands on polymer clay, learning how to condition it for strength and flexibility. Then, we'll explore fundamental shaping techniques by constructing a charming coil pot and a versatile pinch pot. Finally, we'll delve into the basics of bead making, creating unique shapes and textures.
Wednesday: Marbling and Color Exploration
Prepare to swirl and blend! Today, we'll learn the captivating art of marbling clay to craft a beautiful treasure bowl and coordinating marbled beads. We'll also unlock the secrets of color mixing, discovering how primary colors can create a vibrant spectrum for future projects.
Thursday: Wearable Art and Finishing Touches
In our final session, we'll take our clay skills to the next level by covering ink pens with personalized polymer clay designs. While those bake, we'll bring our bead collections to life by learning basic stringing techniques to assemble eye-catching bracelets and necklaces. Get ready to showcase your unique artistry!
Throughout the camp, our projects are designed to inspire creativity and accommodate all skill levels in our 5–9-year-old artists. You'll gain a solid understanding of polymer clay principles and leave with finished pieces you'll be proud to display and wear!
