6th Annual Freedom Festival 1 Mile Dash

Over 30,000 people line Ludington Avenue on July 4th to watch the Freedom Festival Parade. Prior to the parade, runners will race past the crowd, down Ludington Avenue from Washington to Lakeshore. Water and frozen treats will be waiting for them at the end of their one mile sprint.

Entry is $35 prior to June 24th and includes a t-shirt and finishers medal. Late entry online and on race day is $40, t-shirts are not guaranteed. Prizes will be awarded to top male, female, and youth runners. Shirts are only guaranteed to those who register prior to June 24th. Remaining shirts will be available first come/first serve at packet pickup/registration on race day.

Packet pickup and race day registration will take place at Leveaux Park from 12:30-1:30pm.

All of the race proceeds will go to the Freedom Festival Fireworks fundraiser. The annual fireworks display is funded 100% by donations.

There are no restrooms at Leveaux Park. Please plan accordingly. Nearest public restrooms can be viewed on this map.

Parking is limited on July 4th do to the influx of visitors. Street parking is free. Arrive early to find a spot!

Walkers are allowed, but must exit the course if the Honor Guard, who leads the parade, catches up to them.

Please wear your commemorative shirt during the race to help us with promotional photos.

Please do not run/walk the course in reverse after you have finished the race. Use sidewalks and/or side streets to make your way east.

The parade step-off is at 2pm.

Fireworks display starts at dusk.

Info: Registration will begin at 12:30 at Leveaux Park where racers can pick up thier race day T-Shirts or register for the event.

Info: The 1 Mile Dash will start promptly at 1:35 PM, and will finish when all participants have crossed the finish line. In the unlikely event the parade catches up to racers, the racers MUST exit the parade route and end the race.

Info: After you have finished the dash, please stick around and watch the Grand Parade!
