🌈 2025 Peaceful Rainbow Sit-in 🌈

Join us at the Lubbock City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 24th at 2pm CST for the 2025 Peaceful Rainbow Sit-in!

This will be our 3rd consecutive year for the Rainbow Sit-in. Please arrive a few minutes early and come wearing a solid color of the rainbow or your best PRIDE gear! We want to fill the council chamber with color and pride!

Why are we doing this??

There is much more work ahead of our community to address the disproportionate levels of social, cultural, and political basic human rights among the LGBTQ+ community. Having our city leadership proclaim the month of June as PRIDE Month is one small step in celebrating the great diversity that makes up the “hub city”.

The objective of the PRIDE Proclamation is:

1.) To encourage members of the Lubbock City Council to issue an Official Proclamation declaring June as Pride Month
2.) To recognize the broad cultural and entrepreneurial contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to the City of Lubbock
3.) To declare that Lubbock is a city that welcomes all.

As we plant our feet firmly in the space of PRIDE month, we gather together to take up space and proclaim that the LGBTQ+ community is "still here and still queer!" And to quote Lubbock PRIDE's theme this year, "We Are Not Going Anywhere!"
