Pathways Care Farm is nestled in a beautiful rural setting on the edge of north Lowestoft. It’s a farm, but it’s also a place that provides a caring, healthy and therapeutic environment that focuses on what people can do, encouraging them gradually to stretch themselves and achieve pride in success.
It offers vulnerable people the opportunity to learn, re-build and grow through a diverse range of hands-on activities with real applications, from planting, fruit and vegetable cultivation, animal husbandry (including beekeeping!), pottery, helping to restore a barn, or even the basics of mechanical maintenance. It is also a place for contemplation, abounding in natural habitats with space and walkways for users to connect with nature.
Director Geoff Stevens and his team would love to share their learning with our network, so come and join our guided tour. As well as being fun, with opportunities to meet some of the co-workers and the lovely animals, we hope that this will be an opportunity for our members to learn from and be inspired by their approach, and perhaps even take away ideas to bring back to your own community.
Imagine if every community had a care farm – what a difference that would make!
Registration is essential as numbers are limited and so we and our kind hosts know who to expect.
