So much to learn about Children’s Book Illustration, and this class will teach you some of that, it is called mini class, because the field of children’s book illustration is such a varied and beautiful art expression area of publishing, it is endless what we can learn and enjoy.

The class will have special guests from different aspects of the Children’s Book Publishing Field who will be in person and zoom visiting us, and in person children’s book illustrators and authors. As a picture book illustrator of over 20 books Lori McElrath Eslick wishes to bring you as many aspects to this growing field of illustration as she can in our mini time together. She knows that the process of portfolio to publishing has lots of steps in between, such as:

Portfolio ready art that depicts the illustration work that Publishing houses are looking for.

What an art director or editor is also looking for in your work.

Finding your ‘voice’ or your best work, and what makes your heart sing will be good for young readers too.

What we will do in our ‘mini’ time together:

*Take a look at some art history, and what other illustrators have done to make successful illustrations. We will explore also current Children’s book illustrations.

*Have visiting Authors, Illustrators, and Editor and ART Director, and after they give a small talk, Q & A with hiring experts. Which is great, as they are the experts in this field…ready to answer what you are needing to know.

*In this class: we will do an illustration together, so as to see what you wish to do, and we will work on this together.
