SDSF is where forest management, research, education, and recreation meet. Information will be provided on the forest's history, research projects, and forest management. We will visit a recent timber harvest area and see forest treatment in person.
Meet at the Highland Parking Lot across the bridge at 29400 Highland Way, Los Gatos. Since carpooling will be required at the Highland Parking Lot plan to stay for the duration of the tour. (Note: There is no cell service there). Bring your own picnic lunch and water. Hiking will be minimal (less than a mile), but wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. This field trip will be a simplified version of last year’s SDSF field trips to reflect the limited resources available and that no active operations are occurring now.
