Tour & Educational Briefing with Citizens of Val Verde and Castaic

Thank you so much for joining our community to witness first hand the toxic environment we live in every day. It is rare to feel heard and seen by officials while we fight this crisis. It is past time for negotiation, enough is enough. This morning will include:

• Overlooking the landfill site
• Tour Val Verde residents' homes most impacted
• Visit to air quality monitor
• Debrief and state bill discussion with community members, local officials and the broader public

While visiting you may smell odors from exposure to benzene, hydrogen sulfide, and other chemicals from the landfill. For our neighborhood and others nearby, years of exposure have resulted in symptoms including headaches, nausea, asthma, nosebleeds, heart palpitations, vomiting, and dozens of cases of cancer.

The County Board of Supervisors has so far failed to act, despite outdated landfill rules and mounting evidence from public officials of a public health and environmental emergency. Come see for yourself and hear from our community.
