About this Event

SAMO Fund is partnering with the Sow Our Collective Farm in Reseda to train a cohort of Monarca Volunteers (from the San Fernando Valley) to assist with Milkweed giveaways across the San Fernando Valley!

Must be a San Fernando Valley resident to apply

We are looking for folks interested in:

Becoming apart of the Monarca Volunteer Team
Learn about Narrowleaf Milkweed and their importance to Monarch butterflies
Talking to the public about Narrowleaf Milkweed and helping at events
Assisting with at least one giveaway a month from July-September

bilingual folks encouraged to join!

This training is covering:

Why California native milkweed is important to monarch populations
How to help SAMO Fund grow and giveaway over 10,000 milkweed plants in the San
Fernando Valley this Summer!
Updates on local Monarch Butterfly populations and the potential risks of gardening with tropical milkweed
How to make your area more welcoming to Monarch Butterflies and other local pollinators
