PU FIRST PEEK Reading Series: June 13, 14, 15

The Playwrights Union – an inclusive group of writers working in theater, film and television that actively fosters growth for L.A.-based playwrights and provides a supportive artistic community – is pleased to announce its fifteenth annual FIRST PEEK reading series of new work, June 13, 14, and 15 at Atwater Village Theatre (3269 Casitas Avenue).

Come see the first public reading of five original plays, first drafted during a month-long writing challenge to our participating playwrights this past February! Tickets are free, but we encourage advance reservations due to limited seating! If the reading you want to attend is sold out please contact the organizer to be put on a waitlist.

FRIDAY, June 13

8:00 PM WOMEN, BIRDS, STARS by Jennie Webb

Women, Birds, Stars is the story of four women of a certain age who take refuge together when their habitat is threatened. Rocked by uncertainty in an increasingly surreal world, they find themselves weighing their losses and options for survival. But there’s always ice cream.

5:00 PM BIGGEST MAN ON CAMPUS by Eric Rudnick

8:00 PM THE ELEPHANTS by Jennifer Maisel

Who is going to be there for you when nobody else is? Five disparate women discover a tenuous connection binds them together for eternity. Meet THE ELEPHANTS.

Atwater Village Theatre (AVT)

3269 Casitas Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90039

AVT is located at the Atwater Crossing Arts + Innovation Complex. Parking is available in the large Atwater Crossing Parking Lot P1 on Casitas Avenue one block south of the theatre (south of Momed Restaurant, north of Minneapolis Street) and Parking Lot P2 (south of Minneapolis Street) as well as on the street.

P lease note: AVT is on a street that does not connect to Glendale Boulevard (see map below). It's accessible via Fletcher Drive, and from Glendale Boulevard via La Clede Avenue and Tyburn Street
