In this presentation, Alloy Kemp (VP, Thornton Tomasetti) will explain the roles of structural and façade engineers, highlighting their key responsibilities in designing safe, stable, and aesthetically pleasing buildings. She will discuss how different project scales and occupancies, from residential homes to iconic skyscrapers, require unique engineering approaches. Finally, Alloy will showcase real-world examples and explore how innovative technologies are shaping the future of construction and design.
ALLOY KEMP is a licensed architect and engineer at the global engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti. Throughout her tenure at TT, she has specialized as a façade and special structures engineer, and more recently, as a computational designer. Alloy currently serves as the director of operations for TT's internal research and development group. She has contributed to projects of various scales worldwide, including some of the most iconic and recognizable structures. Alloy is dedicated to guiding engineers in applying innovative and creative approaches to achieve superior outcomes across diverse project types.
