The Junior League of Longview is proud to bring back Poverty Conference to our community.
We invite educators, community leaders, and advocates to join us on Wednesday, August 6, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at LeTourneau University Belcher Center, with doors opening at 7:00 AM.
We are honored to welcome Dr. John Gaines as our keynote speaker, along with a dynamic lineup of local speakers who will bring passion, experience, and perspective to this critical conversation.
This event challenges the misconception that poverty determines a student’s future and instead affirms a powerful truth: every student, regardless of their circumstances, has the potential to succeed.
Participants will gain practical strategies to support students experiencing poverty, hear firsthand stories of resilience, and leave empowered to foster hope, opportunity, and achievement in every classroom.
