EMCW New Material Workshop @ The Barge Inn, Long Eaton

Our new material workshops are a great place to test out new jokes. We run it like a comedy gig, but only other comedians in the audience, and there's opportunities to have a go at MCing.

Sets are 5 mins long, and you get feedback and constructive criticism from fellow comedians in a safe environment. Great for new comedians starting out, and for more experienced comedians with a new bit they want to test before taking it onto the stage.

With Edinburgh Fringe around the corner, this is a great place to test a new bit, or tighten up a section of your show.

We have a new addition, coming up with 2 minutes on the spot on a randomly chosen topic picked from the hat, this is optional, it is a great way to develop improv skills or create the germ of an idea you can go on to write about.

Free and open to comedians of all levels across the East Midland and beyond.

Bring some new jokes and something to write with for the feedback.

We're running it in the upstairs function room at The Barge Inn Long Eaton (home of Den Of Laughs comedy night)

There's on-street parking outside the pub on Tamworth Road, and on the neighbouring side streets, Nelson Street and Gladstone Street.
