The Immersive Design Research Lab opens its new space for visceral, co-creative encounters. Immersed in the city, this design happening explores the 間 (‘Ma’)—the in-between of embodied experience—to evoke wonder and imagine possible futures.
Inspired by radical 1950s–60s Happenings and reimagined as advanced design methods, each encounter is participatory. You are not just a guest—you are a collaborator. “Come unprepared.” The future is design… is happening.
As you move, pause, sense, and shift, experience becomes content: thinking-as-touch, thinking-as-sound, thinking-as-creating. Wonder is spatial, social, and embodied. 間APPENING is the emergent condition for designing our complex future.
