Yichen YU - Chopin Recital at St Marylebone Parish Church, 07 Aug 2025 1PM

Born in 2002 in Jinhua, Zhejiang,began studying piano at the age of four. In 2013, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music Primary School under Professor Huang Yameng. He later studied with renowned pianist and professor Shao Dan. He is currently a third-year undergraduate student in the Piano Department at the Central Conservatory of Music, studying under Professor Wei Danwen, Chair of the Piano Department.

In 2025, he qualified for the main rounds of both the International Chopin Competition and ARD International Piano Competition.

As a rising concert pianist, Yichen has performed across Italy, the United States, Germany, Russia, Spain, Poland, Bulgaria, Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong, and major cities throughout China. He has collaborated with numerous prestigious orchestras, including: Salzburg Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Russian State Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra, Irkutsk Philharmonic Orchestra, Toruń Symphony Orchestra (Poland), Sofia Philharmonic, Central Conservatory of Music Youth Symphony Orchestra, Xiamen Philharmonic, CCOM Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Henan Symphony Orchestra, Cross-Strait Youth Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and Ningbo Symphony Orchestra.

On 7 August 2025, Yichen Yu will give a solo recital at St Marylebone Parish Church in London, presented with the support of the Liszt Society UK and Classical-D Music, founded by Mr. Hao Yao, with renowned pianist Leslie Howard serving as Co-Artistic Director.
