About this Event

Learn more about the Correcting our Collecting Reparative Archiving and Museum Restitution Ancestors Remains Ethical Enabler Courses and participate in our reasoning and self repair session with Colonel Sterling of the Moore Town Maroons (JAMAICA) on Saturday 28th February, 2026
Decolonising the Archive has collaborated with Colonel Sterling and Chief Curry to bring an offering of knowledge repair and insights into community resilience. We are exhilerated to have the community join us on this knowledge repair journey.
As part of our courses x 2 we recognise that self reflection on the good, bad and the controversial is important for us as a people/ COMMUNITY to engage in, inorder for us to grow. We also recognise that knowing how to do this in practice IS A PROCESS.
This rare opportunity offers participants to hear narratives about community liberation, building indigeneity and the legacy of African freedom fighters who have built long standing Maroon communities around the Caribbean and further afield and stand as one of the last few vestiges and living examples of self autonomous communities that claim their African heritage through memory and practice.
