Join us at Lala Books for an evening with Natasha Brown to celebrate the publication of her new novel, . She’ll be in conversation with journalist and author Lanre Bakare.
Following the success of her remarkable debut , Brown’s second novel is a sharp, provocative exploration of media, narrative and control. Opening on a Yorkshire farm, in the midst of an illegal rave, a young man is nearly bludgeoned to death with a solid gold bar. Universality traces how the event is shaped — and distorted — by the voices that claim to explain it.
Lanre Bakare is an arts and culture correspondent at The Guardian and author of the recently published, acclaimed book : How Black Culture, Resistance and Community Shaped Modern Britain.
Tickets include a complimentary drink on arrival, with doors opening at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
