London Latin Jazz Fest: Dorancé Lorza & Sexteto Café present: a history of vibraphone in salsa

This unique event recreates the historical and creative story of the Latin Vibraphone Sextet. Led by Colombian composer, multi-instrumentalist and vibraphone virtuoso Dorancé Lorza, Sexteto Café tell a story that begins with the American vibraphone becoming an instrument of fascination for Latinos in New York in the 1940's. The band then journeys through the shift from big band to small combo, the emergence of boogaloo, and the growth of salsa.
