The annual stunning spectacle of colour and music returns to Clissold Park on Saturday 3rd November with the 2018 Hackney Fireworks Display.
This years event will be enhanced with live music, street performances, street food and bars plus a children's village and sparkler zone. As always the display is synchronised to music.
Gates open at 5.00pm and the display starts at 7.30pm. The display is 20 minutes and is suitable for all ages. The event will remain open and operation after the display until 9pm. Please note, some forms of entertainment may be weather-dependant.

What time does the event start and finish?
The event is open and operational from 5pm to 9pm.
How long does the display last?
The display will start at 7.30pm and lasts for 20 minutes. Please note that due to the animal within the park, the display is a low noise display which is choreographed to a musical soundtrack.
What time should I arrive at the event?
We recommend arriving as early as possible but please aim to be inside the park by 6.45pm, this will allow time to move into the audience area ready for the start of the display at 7.30pm.
Please do not leave entry until the last minute and factor in time to move through the ticket barriers.
Are there car parking facilities?
No, there are no car parking facilities available for the event. Where possible please walk or use public transport and plan your journey to and from the event in advance.
Is the event site well-served by public transport?

How do I gain access to the event site?
The event site has three main entry gates:
Gate B: On Green Lanes by Highbury Quadrant (Idea for those travelling from the general direction of Manor House Tube Station or from this local vicinity)
Gate C: On Stoke Newington Church Street at its junction with Green Lanes (Ideal for those travelling from the general direction of Cannonbury Overground Station or within this local vicinity)
Gate D: On Stoke Newington Church Street by Clissold Road (Idea for those travelling from the general direction of Stoke Newington High Street or from this local vicinity)
Please note the following gates will not be accessible:
Green Lanes by Greenway Close;
Stoke Newington Church Street by Spensley Walk;
Queen Elizabeth Walk/Grazebrook Road;
Stoke Newington Church St by Lordship Terrace / Queen Elizabeth Walk;
You can select your entry gate at the point of purchase, this will be displayed on your ticket. Stewards will be on hand to provide assistant and directions.
Do I need to buy a ticket for my baby?
If your child is in a pushchair/buggy then you will need to purchase a child ticket. However, babes in arms will not require a ticket.
At what age is a child and/or young person required to purchase an adult ticket?
For children aged 15 years and under please purchase a child ticket, for young people aged 16 plus an adult ticket is required.
Will there be food and drink vendors at the event?
Yes, ticket holders will now be able to choose from two catering hubs within the event site, one in the Street Entertainment Area and one in the Firework Area. Each will have a number of food vendors who will be selling a selection of street food. There are also several bars onsite.
Will there be any entertainment?
Yes, this year the event site will be split into three areas:
Street Performance Zone with street food and bars;
Firework Entertainment Zone with street food, bars and live music (and of course the fireworks); and
Children's Sparkler Zone (with actual sparklers), face painters, Hackney playbus and free fun activities.
Can I bring in my own food and drink, including alcohol?
No, external food and drink cannot be brought into the site, with the exception of bottled water which must still be sealed.
Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Any alcohol brought onto the site will be confiscated by event security. Alcohol can be purchased and consumed from the onsite bars.
Can I bring in my own fireworks?
No, fireworks are not permitted on site, please note sparklers are also not permitted. Any fireworks and/or sparklers brought onto the site will be confiscated by event security. However, sparklers are available in the new Sparkler Zone. Please note children must be supervised at all times whilst in this area and access into this area will be limited to a set number at any one time.
Can I bring my dog along?
No, the event is operating a no dog policy, with the exception of registered assistance animals. We advise local residents to keep all pets indoors during the display.
Will the fireworks affect the animals in the enclosure, including the deer?
No. In conjunction with the firework operators, we have carried out two firework tests, which were both overseen by an animal specialist to ensure the animals’ welfare would not be compromised as a result of the event. The display has been designed using fireworks approved during the test fire.
In addition, the animals will be observed during the display to observe the animals to ensure their welfare is not compromised throughout the event.
Is there a disabled viewing area?
There are accessible footpaths on site but please be aware that the majority of the event site in on a grass surface. There is a viewing area within the no dog area of Clissold Park, but it is a grass surface, access to this space cannot be pre-booked and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
There are hard standing options within the event space and stewards can assist you on inside the venue.
Last year the Council gave away free tickets to residents, is this happening again?
The Council has once again offered 400 free tickets to local residents, however, this year a decision has been made to allocate all 400 tickets for Hackney based charities, groups and community organisations who provide support to local residents where tickets can be targeted.
I have purchased a ticket and I can no longer attend the event, am I able to get a refund?
Unfortunately no, refunds are not available for this event.
What happens if the event is cancelled due to adverse weather, where do I check for updates?
Please note the event will only be cancelled as a result of the weather if it is deemed unsafe to continue.
Hackney Council will provide regular updates via facebook, twitter and via the Council’s website on the status of the event and any changes. The ticket website Eventbrite will also be updated.
