El Callao holds the more important expression of Calypso in Venezuela, its carnival is a UNESCO cultural Heritage since 2016.
After spending time at El Callao researching the music and traditions, Luzmira is now bringing the Ambassadors of the Calypso of El Callao, Venezuela. �

El Callao was a place of gold where Trinidadians and other Antillean Caribbeans were brought to labour in the mines in the XVIII century.
They brought the Calypso, which became the icon of the city, with its own distinctive rhythms and lyrical style.
