Antepavilion 2025 Launch Party - MOONUMENT

We are pleased to invite you to our full moon launch party for the 2025 Competition's winner: MOONUMENT, by Geroge Gil in collaboration with Redundant Architects Recreation Association.

Join us for an evening of celebration on Saturday the 9th of August at Antepavilion's Hoxton Docks location.

There will be a full bar, DJ, live music and aerial acts.

George Gil's design for MOONUMENT is a statement and celebration of Antepavilion's most recent triumphs. The design takes the shape of the moon, an homage to the reintroduced Sharks! - said to be most active under full moons. MOONUMENT is positioned to miraculously appear from the ether over them, flickering and transforming between phases as passers-by move along the canal around it.

The structure questions the three hackneyed tenets of 'development' for the purpose off the Town and Country Planning Act: size, permanence and attachment. It is an animated paradox: bold yet subtle, transitional yet fixed, large yet light, shallow yet deep, familiar yet unrecognisable.
