Gilfach Nature Reserve
Gilfach Nature Reserve, Llandrindod Well, United Kingdom
Come and join Dewi Roberts (‘Riverman’) at Gilfach to learn about the amazing natural and cultural history of the iconic Atlantic Salmon.
Following a talk, we will head down to the wonderful Afon Marteg where there is a chance of seeing salmon leaping at the waterfall. Even if we don’t see salmon, there is plenty to see at this jewel of a nature reserve.
Places are limited, so booking is essential.
Meeting point: Visitors Centre, LD6 5LF
The Visitor Centre currently has no heating, and it can be chilly by the river in November—please dress warmly and wear sturdy footwear.
The walk includes some steep, muddy, and slippery sections, and the access road also offers a bit of a workout!
Refreshments: Hot drinks and cake will be provided. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks too.
Please note: Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted at this event.
