Vabljene_ na projekcijo filma Plinska luč (1944) po katerem je dobil ime izraz "gaslighting" (slovenski prevod: mráčenje), ki bo v nedeljo 12. oktobra ob 19ih v Kinodvoru.
Gaslighting, po slovensko mráčenje, je zahrbtna oblika manipulacije in psihološkega nadzora. Žrtvam mračenja storilec namerno in sistematično daje lažne informacije, ki jih napeljejo k dvomljenju, ali je vse, kar vedo, res. Lahko začnejo dvomiti o svoji zmožnosti pomnenja, zaznavanju in celo o lastni razsodnosti.

Mlada ženska Pavla, ki živi s svojo teto, znano operno pevko, se po njenem umoru preseli v Italijo. Deset let pozneje se po kratki romanci poroči s pianistom Gregoryjem Antonom, ki je v resnici morilec. Par se vrne v tetino hišo, kjer niz nerazložljivih dogodkov vodi Paolo do suma, da počasi izgublja razum.
Toda nenavadni dogodki – kot je skrivnostno ugašanje plinskih svetilk v hiši (od tod tudi naslov filma) – so v resnici Gregoryjeva skrbno načrtovana dejanja, s katerimi želi svojo mlado ženo pripraviti do blaznosti, jo dati v norišnico in si nato prilastiti skriti zaklad draguljev v hiši.

We invite you to a movie projection Gaslight (1944) after which a term gaslighting got its name and that will happen on Sunday, 12th of October at 7pm at Kinodvor.
Gaslighting is an insidious form of manipulation and psychological control. The perpetrator deliberately and systematically gives victims false information, leading them to doubt whether everything they know is true. They may begin to doubt their ability to remember, perceive, and even their own judgment.

Paula, a young woman who lives with her aunt, a famous opera singer in London, moves to Italy after her aunt is killed during a burglary. Ten years later, following a brief courtship, she marries the pianist Gregory Anton, who, unbeknownst to her, is actually the murderer. The couple returns to her aunt’s house, and a series of unexplained incidents lead Paula to suspect that she may be slowly going mad.
However, the strange events—such as the mysterious dimming of the gaslights in the house (hence the title of the film)—are actually orchestrated by Gregory in an attempt to drive his young bride mad, institutionalize her, and then steal a cache of jewels hidden somewhere in the house.
